【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 2026년 도서관을 거점으로 지역 문화 확산에 본격적으로 나선다. 

남구는 연중 ‘문화가 있는 날’과 야간 인문 프로그램 ‘달빛도서관’을 운영해 주민들에게 다양한 문화 향유 기회를 제공할 계획이라고 24일 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 남구립 이천어울림도서관과 대명어울림도서관이 월별로 번갈아가며 맡는다. 두 도서관은 어린이와 가족을 위한 체험형 프로그램, 성인을 위한 인문 프로그램을 각기 특화해 세대별 문화 수요에 맞춰 운영할 예정이다.

‘문화가 있는 날’에는 어린이와 가족을 위한 그림책 만들기, 손놀이 북 제작 등 창작 워크숍이 마련된다. 가족 연극과 인형극, 체험형 과학·예술 교실 등 놀이와 학습이 결합된 프로그램도 진행된다. 모든 일정은 주말 또는 공휴일 오후에 배치해 가족 단위 참여를 유도하고, 어린이의 자연스러운 독서 습관 형성에 초점을 맞췄다.

평일 저녁에는 성인을 위한 ‘달빛도서관’이 문을 연다. 철학·문학 강연, 지역사 인문 탐방, 작가 초청 북토크, 글쓰기와 사진 워크숍 등이 소규모 심화 과정으로 제공된다. 퇴근 이후 저녁 시간대에 열려, 도서관이 지역 인문 교류의 장으로 활용될 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.

남구는 두 도서관이 프로그램을 교차 운영함으로써 주민들의 선택 폭을 넓히고, 학교와 문화예술단체, 지역 작가 등과의 협업으로 프로그램의 다양성도 한층 강화한다는 방침이다. 온라인과 현장 접수가 모두 가능하며, 야간 프로그램의 경우 안전한 귀가 환경 조성에도 신경 쓸 계획이다.

조재구 남구청장은 “도서관이 단순한 책 대출 공간을 넘어 일상과 함께하는 문화 중심지로 자리매김할 수 있도록 하겠다”며 “세대별로 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 통해 주민의 삶의 질을 높이겠다”고 말했다.

Nam-gu announced on the 24th that it plans to offer residents diverse cultural experiences by operating "Culture Day" and the evening humanities program "Moonlight Library" throughout the year.

Small-group, in-depth programs include philosophy and literature lectures, local humanities tours, author book talks, and writing and photography workshops. Open after work in the evenings, the library is expected to serve as a venue for local cultural exchange.

Nam-gu plans to expand the choices available to residents by interoperating programs between the two libraries, while bolstering the diversity of programs through collaborations with schools, cultural and arts organizations, and local artists. Registration is available online and in person, and for evening programs, attention will be paid to ensuring a safe return home.

Nam-gu Mayor Cho Jae-gu stated, "We will strive to ensure that the library goes beyond simply lending books and becomes a cultural hub that accompanies daily life. We will enhance the quality of life for residents through diverse programs that appeal to all generations."
