이 캠퍼스에서는 약 40개의 다양한 연구형 과정을 제공할 예정이다. 또 학생이 직접 연구 주제를 설계하고 수행하는 ‘노벨과학 학생 연구실’, 오사카 교육청 및 오사카부 슈퍼사이언스 하이스쿨과 함께하는 공동연구 및 학술교류 프로그램도 포함된다.
경북교육청은 기존 사업과 연계해 ‘기초-탐구-연구-성과 확산-국제 교류’로 이어지는 전주기 인재 양성 체계를 구축한다는 방침이다. 이를 통해 학생들의 결과물이 발표, 페스티벌, 특허 출원 등으로 이어질 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.
임종식 경북교육감은 “학생이 스스로 질문하고 연구할 수 있는 교육으로 전환하겠다”며 “공교육 기반 연구 생태계를 통해 AI 시대를 이끌 미래 이공계 인재를 체계적으로 키워내겠다”고 밝혔다.
