【브레이크뉴스 영천】진예솔 기자=이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 경북 지역에서 ‘골목골목 경청투어’를 이어가며 지지층 결집과 민심 잡기에 나섰다. 그는 영천, 칠곡, 김천, 성주, 고령 등을 돌며 ‘국민이 주인인 나라’를 재차 강조했다.

이 후보는 오전 10시 경주 ‘꽃을아는남자 휴포레점’ 앞에서 투어를 시작한 뒤, 11시 30분 영천 청통떡집 앞 거리 유세에서 강도 높은 메시지를 전했다. 그는 “국가 권력은 국민의 더 나은 삶을 위해 써야 한다”며 “우리는 왕이나 지배자를 뽑는 것이 아니라 우리를 위해 충직하게 일할 일꾼을 뽑는 것”이라고 목소리를 높였다.

이어 “출생률이 세계에서 가장 낮은 이유도 미래에 대한 불안 때문”이라며 “이런 위기를 극복할 수 있는 건 바로 국민의 선택”이라고 강조했다. 또 “선택하려면 연구도 하고 투자도 해야 한다. 똥 막대기인지 호미인지 잘 골라야 하지 않겠느냐”며 유권자들의 현명한 판단을 당부했다.

오후 2시 10분 칠곡 장군안경 공주석적점 앞 유세에서는 “이 나라의 주인은 국민”이라며 “주인의 자리를 뺏으려는 머슴은 축출해야 한다”고 말했다. 

김천 실내체육관 앞에서는 언론과 만나 자신의 공직선거법 위반 상고심과 관련한 입장을 밝혔다. 그는 “사법부가 국민의 신뢰를 저버리지 않길 바란다”며 “사법 체계가 정치나 사익에 오염되면 민주주의도 무너진다”고 지적했다. “대부분의 판사들이 합리적인 판단을 내리기 위해 노력한다고 믿는다”며 사법부를 향한 기대도 내비쳤다.

이 후보는 험지로 평가받는 경북 지역과 관련해서도 “대구만큼 어려운 곳이지만 오해를 풀고 희망을 나누기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”며 “색깔보다 중요한 것은 국민의 삶이다. 충직하고 유능한 일꾼이 누구인지를 보고 판단해달라”고 호소했다.

이후 오후 5시 성주 성심한의원 앞, 6시 20분 고령 대가야광장 공용주차장으로 이동해 일정을 마무리했다.
