지난달 23일 한국자치발전연구원 주최로 열린 시상식에서는 지방행정과 지역 발전, 교육자치, 지방재정 등 다양한 분야에서 헌신한 인물에게 지방자치발전 대상을 수여했다.
이춘우 의원은 경북 산업단지의 온실가스 감축과 에너지 효율 개선을 위한 조례 개정, 지역학 연구 및 지원 조례 발의 등으로 지역 발전과 도민 삶의 질 향상에 기여한 점을 인정받았다.
지난 3월 발생한 경북 초대형 산불 당시 의회운영위원회 위원장으로서 산불대책특별위원회를 구성하고 피해 마을 복구와 주민 생활 회복을 위해 적극적으로 노력한 점도 높은 평가를 받았다.
이 의원은 “도민만을 바라보고 걸어온 길이 큰 상으로 이어져 무척 뜻깊다”며 “앞으로도 환경과 문화가 조화를 이루는 가운데 도민 모두가 안심하고 살아갈 수 있는 경북을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

People Power Party member Lee Chun-woo of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council has won the 2025 Korea Local Autonomy Development Award in the Metropolitan Area (Local Council Member) category.
At an awards ceremony held on the 23rd of last month, hosted by the Korea Autonomy Development Institute, the Local Autonomy Development Award was presented to individuals who have dedicated themselves to various fields, including local administration, regional development, educational autonomy, and local finance.

He also received high praise for his active efforts as Chair of the Council Steering Committee during the massive wildfires in Gyeongbuk in March, including establishing a special committee to address wildfires and restoring the lives of affected villages.
The lawmaker said, “It is very meaningful that the path I have walked with only the citizens in mind has led to such a great reward,” and added, “I will continue to do my best to create a Gyeongbuk where all citizens can live with peace of mind while the environment and culture are in harmony.”
