【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북 4개 지역이 사교육 부담을 덜어주는 국가 지원 사업에 뽑혔다. 

경북교육청은 16일 교육부 공모에서 포항시와 상주시, 영천시, 울릉군이 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

경북교육청은 지난해 9월부터 1차로 선정된 구미시와 울진군에서 이미 사업을 이끌어왔다. 이번 2차 공모에서는 사교육 경감 태스크포스 협의를 거쳐 실효성을 높인 계획서를 교육부에 냈고, 4곳이 추가로 선정되는 결과를 얻었다.

이달부터 내년 2월까지 16개월간 총 12억 원이 투입된다. 각 지역은 조건에 맞춰 학교나 학년, 읍면동을 골라 자율적으로 사업을 펼친다.

포항은 '포항해봄 실천 사업'으로 학년별·과목별 맞춤 지원에 나선다. 학교 공모를 통해 현장 교육활동을 빈틈없이 돕는다. 일반고와 특목고, 직업계고 특성에 맞는 진로·진학 프로그램도 지역 대학과 손잡고 운영한다.

상주는 지역사회와 대학, 마을 학교를 잇는 교육 플랫폼을 만든다. 악기 교실과 소년소녀합창 교실로 수준 높은 예술교육을 제공하고, 배려가 필요한 학생들을 위한 특기적성과 방과후 창의 놀이 프로그램을 지원한다.

영천은 지역 연계 온종일 늘봄교실을 중심으로 스스로 공부하는 문화를 퍼뜨린다. '별빛 공동교육' 프로그램으로 과학 체험과 청소년 진로 탐색, 대입 설계를 돕는다. 학교 브랜드화와 특화교육으로 공교육 혁신을 이끈다는 계획이다.

울릉은 EBS를 활용한 맞춤형 자기주도학습 프로그램과 수업 연구 학습공동체, 학습 동기 레벨업 가족 캠프를 운영한다. 수학학력지원센터도 열어 학생들의 학습 의욕과 성취감을 높인다.

임종식 교육감은 "경북 지역 여건과 실정에 맞는 사교육비 줄이기 전략을 적극 개발하고, 내가 사는 따뜻한 터전에서 가능과 지속이 교육으로 이뤄지도록 지역사회와 협력을 강화하겠다"고 말했다.

Four regions in North Gyeongsang Province have been selected for a national support project to alleviate the burden of private education.

The North Gyeongsang Province Office of Education announced on the 16th that Pohang City, Sangju City, Yeongcheon City, and Ulleung County were selected through a public contest held by the Ministry of Education.

It offers high-quality arts education through instrument classes and boys' and girls' choir classes, and supports special aptitude and after-school creative play programs for students in need.

Yeongcheon is promoting a culture of independent learning through its community-linked all-day Neulbom Classroom. The "Starlight Joint Education" program offers science experiences, career exploration, and college admissions planning for young people. Its goal is to drive innovation in public education through school branding and specialized education.

Ulleung operates customized self-directed learning programs utilizing the EBS (Educational Broadcasting System), a learning community for class research, and a family camp to enhance learning motivation. It also operates a math academic support center to boost students' motivation and sense of accomplishment.

Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik stated, "We will actively develop strategies to reduce private education costs tailored to the specific circumstances and needs of the Gyeongbuk region and strengthen cooperation with the local community to ensure that education is both feasible and sustainable in the warm and inclusive environment where we live."
