2025 APEC 정상회의 공식 부대행사로 열리는 이번 행사는  'Learn Together, Lead Tomorrow(함께 배우며, 내일을 열다)'를 슬로건으로 내걸었다.

전 세계와 미래를 교육으로 연결하는 대규모 교육 축제는 26일부터 28일까지 3일간 경주시 경상북도교육청발명체험교육관 일원에서 진행된다.

K-EDU EXPO는 세계의 문, 미래의 광장, 지역의 통로, 기술의 공방, 문화의 뜰 등 다섯 가지 주제 공간으로 구성되어 관람객에게 다채롭고 차별화된 교육 전시·체험 프로그램을 선보인다.

'세계의 문'에서는 개·폐막식을 비롯해 주요 공식 행사와 특집 공연, 강연이 열린다. 개막식에서는 임종식 경북교육감의 미래교육 비전 선포와 함께, 인공지능 시대 교육의 방향을 주제로 이세돌 9단과 칸아카데미 설립자 살만 칸의 온오프라인 대담이 진행된다. 

'2025 경북 국제 AI 메타버스 영상공모전' 수상작 특별 상영과 시 낭송 콘서트, 장애인예술단 '온울림' 공연, 도내 20여 개 학교 무대 공연이 3일간 이어진다.

'미래의 광장'에서는 첫날 '도전·꿈·성취 인증제 한마당'이 열리고, 이후 2~3일 차에는 경상북도연구원 주관 국제교육포럼이 열린다. 'AI 시대, 삶과 교육을 돌아보다'를 주제로 국내외 석학들이 인간과 인공지능의 조화로운 공생 방안을 논의한다.

'지역의 통로'는 경북의 우수 교육정책을 한자리에 모은 대표 전시 공간이다. AI 활용교육과 정주학교, 늘봄학교, 발전특구, 생태교육, 마음건강 등 26개의 전시·체험 콘텐츠가 운영되며, 교육부와 전남교육청·대구시교육청도 특별 참가해 교육 협력의 장을 넓힌다.

'기술의 공방'에서는 VR·AR·AI 기반 미래교실 체험관을 중심으로 로봇·드론 시연, 디지털 학습 콘텐츠 전시 등 20여 개 부스가 설치되어 관람객이 직접 미래교육을 체험할 수 있다.

'문화의 뜰'은 교육과 문화·일상의 융합을 주제로 K-푸드, K-뷰티, K-펫, K-아트 체험 부스와 특성화고·마이스터고 진로 체험 부스를 운영하며, 가을 정취 속 황남동 고분군 일대의 전통 유적과 어우러진 특별한 문화 경험을 선사한다.

모든 전시체험은 사전 등록을 통해 신청할 수 있으며, 온라인 스탬프 투어 및 실시간 체험 예약·대기 시스템을 운영해 관람객의 편의를 높였다.

이번 엑스포에서는 참여자 중심의 '공유 부스' 모델이 처음 도입된다. 전시 인프라를 개방해 공모를 통해 선정된 참가자가 직접 운영하는 참여형 부스 플랫폼으로, 교육의 다양성과 개방성을 상징하는 새로운 시도로 평가받고 있다.

임종식 교육감은 "K-EDU EXPO는 경북교육과 한국 교육의 우수성을 세계와 나누고 미래 교육의 방향을 함께 찾는 장이 될 것"이라고 말했다.

The three-day event will feature a special screening of the award-winning works from the "2025 Gyeongbuk International AI Metaverse Video Contest," a poetry recital concert, performances by the disabled arts troupe "Onullim," and performances by approximately 20 schools across the province.

The "Future Plaza" will host the "Challenge, Dream, and Achievement Certification Festival" on the first day. The International Education Forum, hosted by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Research Institute, will take place on the second and third days. Under the theme "Reflecting on Life and Education in the AI ​​Era," leading domestic and international scholars will discuss ways to foster a harmonious coexistence between humans and AI.

The "Regional Corridor" is a representative exhibition space showcasing Gyeongbuk's outstanding education policies. Twenty-six exhibitions and experiential content will be presented, including AI-based education, residential schools, Neulbom schools, development special zones, ecological education, and mental health. The Ministry of Education, the Jeonnam Office of Education, and the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education will also participate, broadening the scope of educational cooperation.

The "Technology Workshop" will feature over 20 booths, including a VR, AR, and AI-based future classroom experience center, robot and drone demonstrations, and digital learning content exhibitions, allowing visitors to experience future education firsthand.

The "Culture Garden" will feature booths showcasing K-food, K-beauty, K-pet, and K-art, as well as career experience booths for specialized and Meister high schools, centered around the theme of education, culture, and everyday life. These booths will offer a unique cultural experience, blending the autumnal atmosphere with the traditional heritage of the Hwangnam-dong Ancient Tombs.

All exhibition experiences require advance registration, and an online stamp tour and real-time experience reservation and waiting system will enhance visitor convenience.

This expo will introduce a participant-centered "shared booth" model for the first time. This participatory platform, where the exhibition infrastructure is open to the public and selected participants operate their booths, is recognized as a new initiative symbolizing diversity and openness in education.

Superintendent Lim Jong-sik said, "K-EDU EXPO will be a place to share the excellence of Gyeongbuk education and Korean education with the world and to find the future direction of education together."
