이에 대해 경북교육청 측은 “언론에서 언급되고 있는 조직적 괴롭힘은 사실이 아니다”고 강조했다. 

교육청은 “부서별 행정은 법원의 결정에 따른 행정기관의 의무적 집행, 그리고 외부 민원 신청에 따른 최소한의 확인 절차였다”고 해명했다.

또한 “경북교육청은 공무원의 선거 관여와 선거에 영향을 미치는 행위를 엄격히 금지하고 있으며, 공직선거법을 철저히 준수하고 있다”며, 이번 사건이 교육감 선거와 연관됐다는 일부 주장에 대해서도 선을 그었다.
