【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경상북도교육청이 에티오피아 우수 교원 20명을 초청해 ‘2025 경북교육청 초청 디지털 역량 강화 연수’를 이달 27일부터 30일까지 4일간 진행했다. 

이번 연수는 경북교육청이 추진 중인 ‘교류협력국 선도 교원 초청 디지털 연수’의 두 번째 일정으로, 앞서 열린 과테말라 교원 연수에 이어 성공적으로 마무리됐다.

에티오피아 교육부는 올해 자국 내 6만 5천여명의 교사를 대상으로 ICT 연수를 실시한 후, 엄격한 평가를 거쳐 최우수 교원 20명을 이번 프로그램에 파견했다. 이로써 에티오피아의 높은 교육열과 양국의 교육 협력 의지를 재확인했다.

연수단은 27일 한국에 도착해 본격적인 일정을 시작했다. 28일에는 경주 경북교육청 발명체험교육관에서 열린 K-EDU EXPO 부스를 방문, 다양한 디지털 교육 체험 활동에 참여했다.

이어 대릉원, 첨성대, 불국사, 석굴암 등 경주의 주요 문화유적지도 탐방하며 한국의 역사와 문화를 몸소 경험했다.

29일 오전에는 이윤화 교육국장이 참석한 가운데 개강식이 열렸으며, ICT 활용 수업 연수가 본격적으로 시작됐다. 

마지막 날인 30일 오후에는 정보화 연수를 마친 뒤 경북교육청을 방문해 임종식 교육감과 만나 양국 간 교육 협력 확대 방안에 대해 심도 있게 논의했다.

임종식 교육감은 “6.25 전쟁 당시 에티오피아가 보여준 우정과 희생에 깊이 감사드린다”며, “이번 연수가 양국 교원 간 상호 이해를 높이고 미래 교육 발전에 소중한 밑거름이 되길 바란다”고 환영의 뜻을 전했다.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education invited 20 outstanding Ethiopian teachers to the "2025 Gyeongbuk Office of Education Invitational Digital Capacity Building Training" for four days from the 27th to the 30th of this month.

This training program, the second in the Gyeongbuk Office of Education's "Digital Training Program for Leading Teachers from Exchange and Cooperation Countries," successfully concluded following the previous training program for teachers in Guatemala.

The Ethiopian Ministry of Education conducted ICT training for approximately 65,000 teachers this year and, after a rigorous evaluation, selected 20 of the top teachers to participate in this program. This program reaffirmed Ethiopia's strong passion for education and the commitment of the two countries to educational cooperation.

The delegation arrived in Korea on the 27th and began their official itinerary. On the 28th, they visited the K-EDU EXPO booth at the Gyeongbuk Office of Education's Invention Experience Education Center in Gyeongju and participated in various digital education experience activities.

They then visited major cultural heritage sites in Gyeongju, including Daereungwon Royal Tomb, Cheomseongdae Observatory, Bulguksa Temple, and Seokguram Grotto, experiencing Korean history and culture firsthand.

On the morning of the 29th, an opening ceremony was held with Director of Education Lee Yun-hwa in attendance, and training on ICT utilization in classroom instruction began in earnest.

On the afternoon of the 30th, the final day, after completing the information technology training, they visited the Gyeongbuk Office of Education and met with Superintendent Lim Jong-sik to discuss in-depth ways to expand educational cooperation between the two countries.

Superintendent Lim Jong-sik expressed his deep gratitude, saying, "I am deeply grateful for the friendship and sacrifice Ethiopia demonstrated during the Korean War. I hope this training will enhance mutual understanding between teachers in both countries and serve as a valuable foundation for the future development of education."
