【브레이크뉴스 경북 】이성현 기자=포항시북구선거관리위원회는 오는 5일 실시하는 포항시의회의원재선거(포항시‘나’선거구)와 관련, A씨를 기부행위제한 규정 등을 위반한 혐의로 경찰에 고발했다고 밝혔다.

  A씨는 선거운동을 할 수 없는 자로 지난 3월 24일 선거구민 등이 참석한 모임에서 특정 후보자에 대한 지지를 호소하면서 금품제공 의사를 표시한 혐의를 받고 있다.

공직선거법 제255조(부정선거운동죄)제1항 제2호에 의하면 ‘제60조(선거운동을 할 수 없는 자)제1항을 위반하여 선거운동을 한 자는 3년 이하의 징역 또는 600만 원 이하의 벌금에 처한다’고 규정하고 있다. 또, 같은 법 제257조(기부행위의 금지제한 등 위반죄)제1항제1호에 의하면 ‘제115조(제삼자의 기부행위제한)의 규정에 위반한 자는 5년 이하의 징역 또는 1천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처한다’고 규정하고 있다.

경상북도선거관리위원회는 금품제공 등 공직선거법 위반행위에 대해서는 도 및 선거구위원회의 단속인력을 총동원하여 철저하게 조사하고 엄중 조치할 방침이라고 밝히면서, 적극적인 위반행위 신고·제보를 당부했다.
