이춘우 의원은 영천시의회 3선을 역임하고, 경상북도의회 제11대 전반기 농수산위원회 부위원장, 후반기 운영위원회 부위원장 및 기획경제위원회 위원을 거쳤다.

현재는 경상북도의회 제12대 전반기 기획경제위원장으로 활동하고 있으며, ‘경상북도 귀농인 지원 조례’, ‘경상북도 지역물류산업 육성 및 지원에 관한 조례’, ‘경상북도 소재․부품․장비산업 육성 및 지원 조례’ 등 10여건의 조례를 대표 발의하는 등 활발한 의정활동을 펼치고 있다.

이춘우 의원은 ”봉사대상은 지역주민을 위해 펼친 의정활동을 인정받은 결과물인 것 같아 매우 뜻 깊게 느껴진다.”고 밝히며 “앞으로도 지역 주민들을 위해 지역 주민의 입장에서 더욱 활발한 활동에 나서겠다.”고 소감을 전했다.
