김천시장 재선거 경선 후보자는 김응규(전 경북도의회 의장, 배낙호 전 김천시의회 의장, 이창재 전 김천시 부시장, 임인배 전 국회의원 등이다.
후보 4명에 대한 경선 여론조사를 통해 최종 후보자를 가린다. 여론조사는 일반 유권자 50%, 당원 선거인단 50% 비율로 진행된다.
또한 고령나 선거구의 경우 나영완 국민의힘 다산면 운영위원과 성현덕 고령군 교육발전위원회 이사장 2자 경선이 결정됐다. 이들은 당선선거인단 100% 투표를 진행한다.
아울러 공관위는 성주군의 광역의원 선거구는 무공천하기로 최종 결정했다.
