【브레이크뉴스 김천】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 송언석 국회의원(경북 김천)이 ‘혁신도시 조성 및 발전에 관한 특별법 일부개정법률안’을 13일 대표발의했다.
지역균형발전을 목적으로 조성된 혁신도시에 대한 지원 강화를 위해 2007년부터 시행되고 있는 현행법은 2014년 개정안을 통해 산ㆍ학ㆍ연 클러스터에 입주하는 국내외 연구기관, 종합병원, 대학 등이 시설을 건축하는 경우 그에 필요한 비용을 지원할 수 있도록 규정하고 있다.
그러나 공공기관 이전이 완료되고 혁신도시에 거주하는 주민들의 의료 수요가 높아짐에도 불구하고 보건·의료 인프라가 부족해 정주여건 개선 차원에서라도 인프라 확충 필요성이 꾸준히 제기되어 왔다. 하지만, 법률에 명시된 종합병원 지원기준의 현실성이 없어 실제 혁신도시에 대한 종합병원 건축비 신청 및 지원 사례가 전무한 상황이다.
이에 송언석 의원은 법률상 지원 대상을 종합병원에서 종합병원 분원으로 확대하고, 대상 지역도 산학연 클러스터에서 혁신도시 전체로 확대하며, 병원 건립뿐만 아니라 운영에 필요한 비용의 전부 또는 일부를 지원하도록 하는 내용의 법안을 대표발의했다.
송언석 의원은 “개정안이 통과되면, 공공 어린이 병원 등 김천 혁신도시 의료기반의 확충뿐만 아니라 전국 여러 혁신도시의 의료서비스 안정화에 이바지할 수 있을 것”이라며“지역균형발전을 달성하기 위하여 혁신도시의 보건·의료 인프라 확대에 최선을 다할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
