【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=김오진 경북 김천 국민의힘 예비후보가 공천경쟁을 펼치고 있는 송언석 예비후보를 선거법 위반으로 김천시선거관리위원회에 신고하고 국민의힘 공천관리위원회에 경선 이의신청을 했다고 밝혔다.

김 예비후보는 “송언석 예비후보가 지난 26일 오전, 김천 성의고등학교에서 열린 김천 농협 행사에서 불특정 다수를 대상으로 마이크를 잡고 축사를 전하던 도중 자신의 의정활동을 홍보 했다”고 주장했다. 

또한 “서부초등학고 김천농협 행사에서도 마이크를 잡고 의정활동 홍보를 이어갔다”며 “이와 관련된 내용을 김천시선관위와 경북도선관위 등에 제보했고 선관위가 이를 위법 행위로 판단한 것을 확인했다”고 전했다.

뿐만 아니라 김 예비후보는 “같은 내용을 국민의힘 공관위 클린공천지원단 국민제보센터에 제보했다”며 “경선 여론조사가 한참 진행 중인 상황이므로 공관위의 신속한 논의 및 제재 조치를 바란다”고 말했다.

아울러 “송 예비후보가 김천시 국민의힘 후보가 되더라도 선거법 위반으로 최종 결정될 수 있는 중대한 사안”이라며 송언석 예비후보에 대한 강력한 제재 조치를 요구했다.

공직선거법 제256조, 제111조 1항 단서의 규정에 따르면 선거일 전 90일부터 선거일까지 의정활동을 보고한 자는 2년 이하의 징역 또는 400만 원 이하의 벌금에 처하도록 되어있다.

이에 대해 송언석 예비후보는 “김오진 예비후보 측에서 '김천시 선거관리위원회에서 송언석 후보의 의정활동 홍보 행위를 위법으로 판단했다'고 밝힌 것은 허위사실 유포”라고 주장했다.

김천시선관위는 “송 예비후보의 행위가 선거법 위반의 소지가 있다고 판단되어 향후 조사를 진행할 예정이다”라고 밝혔다.
