그러면서 “지역 정서에 기대어 야당 대표를 공격하여 본인의 지지를 얻으려는 한심한 작태에 분노를 금할 수 없다.”고 강하게 비판을 이어갔다.
민주당 경북도당은 “국회의원의 신분으로서는 더더욱 상상할 수 없는 모습이라 여겨진다.”며 “송언석 국회의원은 경북도민과 김천시민에게 재발방지 약속과 공개사과를 하라.”고 강력히 촉구했다.
