시당은 “윤석열·김건희 전 대통령 부부를 중심으로 한 내란 가담 세력이 헌법적 요건 없이 비상계엄을 강행했고, 국회와 선거관리위원회를 무력화하려 했다”며 “이 시도가 당시 시민들의 저항으로 제압되지 않았다면 국가와 대구 시민 모두가 심각한 폭력에 노출될 수 있었다”고 지적했다.

또한 민주당 대구시당은 친일파 청산 실패가 반복된 역사적 비극을 예로 들며, 이번 내란 사태의 잔재를 반드시 청산해야 한다고 강조했다. 특히 내란 명분을 만들기 위해 북한의 도발을 유도하려 했다는 점도 문제로 삼았다. 민주당 대구시당은 “2023년 10월부터 대북전단 살포와 군 동원을 통한 명분 조성 시도가 있었다는 증언이 공개됐다”며, 국가 안보가 정치적 도구로 활용됐다는 의혹을 다시 한번 제기했다.

진보당 대구시당도 이날 별도 논평을 통해 지난해 ‘불법 계엄’ 선포 1년을 맞아 내란 가담 세력을 완전히 청산해야 한다고 주장했다. 진보당은 “당시 시민들이 헌정 유린에 맞서 민주주의를 지켜낸 겨울이 떠오른다”며, 그 이후 1년을 “윤석열 일당과 국민의힘이 정권 유지에만 몰두한 시간이었다”고 비판했다.

특히 진보당 대구시당은 국민의힘이 내란 책임에서 회피하는 것은 물론, 오히려 피해자 행세로 정치적 반격을 시도하고 있다고 지적했다. 이어 “대구 지역에서 여전히 강한 영향력을 행사하는 국민의힘은 극우 세력 뒤에 숨어 내란정당으로 남아 있다”고 규정하며, 정치적 단죄의 필요성을 강조했다.

진보당은 국회에 내란 전담재판부 설치를 촉구했고, 조희대 대법원장에게는 사과와 사퇴를 요구했다. 또, 이번 사태가 발생할 수 있었던 배경으로 국가 시스템의 취약성을 꼽으며, 헌정 체계를 보완해 불법 계엄과 같은 사태의 재발을 막아야 한다고 주장했다.

The Progressive Party stated, "We are reminded of the winter when citizens defended democracy against constitutional abuses," and criticized the year that followed, saying, "Yoon Seok-yeol and his group and the People Power Party were solely focused on maintaining power."

The Daegu City Chapter of the Progressive Party in particular criticized the People Power Party for not only evading responsibility for the rebellion, but also attempting a political counterattack by portraying itself as a victim. They went on to state, "The People Power Party, which still wields significant influence in the Daegu region, remains a rebellious party, hiding behind far-right forces," emphasizing the need for political condemnation.

The Progressive Party urged the National Assembly to establish a dedicated rebellion tribunal and demanded an apology and resignation from Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae. They also cited the vulnerabilities of the national system as contributing to the current situation and argued that the constitutional system must be strengthened to prevent a recurrence of events like the illegal martial law.

The Daegu branch of the Progressive Party stated, “We will hold those responsible and strengthen democracy together with the citizens,” adding, “We will condemn those who have underestimated the people and abused their power, and we will open a new era together with the citizens.”
