진보당 신동선 예비후보는 지난 10일 오후2시 경북도의회 앞에서 출마기자회견을 개최하고 "경북도민의 삶과 운명을 책임지기위해 비정규직 노동자 진보도의원 한명은 있어야 한다."며 출마에 나선 이유를 밝혔다.

이날 기자회견에는 약 20여 명의 학비노조 간부들이 참가했으며 신동성 도비례후보에게 당선증과, 진보당에 정당투표하는 퍼포먼스를 진행했다.

신동성 예비후보를 응원하기위해 참석한 민혜경 학비노조 경북지부 지부장은 "경북도의회가 전체 의원대비 연평균 조례 발의건수 1인당0.99건으로 전국 꼴찌를 기록했다."며 "그 결과 전국에서 경북의 학교비정규직노동자들의 처우가 가장 낮다. 이런 도의회를 바꾸기위해 신동성 후보의 당선을 위해 최선을 다하겠다"고 입장을 밝혔다.

이어 지지발언에 나선 김홍자 학비노조 경북지부 상주지회장은 "학교비정규직노동자들이 스스로 현실을 바꾸기위해 노동조합을 만들었듯이, 학교비정규직 노동자를 도의회로 보내 우리의 현실을 바꾸겠다."고 발언했다.

배지현 학비노조 경북지부 유치원 분과장은 "열악한 처우를 바꾸기 위해 경북도의회를 찾았지만, 결국 마지막에는 외면 당했다."며 학교비정규직 도의원의 필요성을 역설했다.

신동성 진보당 도비례후보는 "생활임금 조례도 전국 꼴찌로 시행되었고, 농업인구가 많지만 농민수당도 이제 겨우 시행되었다."고 밝히며 "이런 현실을 바꾸기위해 출마를 선언했다. 도민분들의 많은 관심을 부탁드린다"며 지지를 호소했다.

한편 진보당 경북도당은 이번 6월 1일 지방선거에 김미숙 전국요양서비스노조 대구경북지부장과 신동성 전국학교비정규직노동조합 경북지부 조직국장 2명을 지난 4월 8일에 공천했다고 밝혔다.
