이에 진보당 대구시당은 “죄를 지은 자는 누구든 처벌받는 것이 보편적 상식이고, 그 상식에 대통령 영부인 김건희씨라고 예외일 순 없다”며 “주가조작, 뇌물수수, 이해방지 충돌, 비리 혐의 등 얼마나 더 많은 범죄사실이 드러나야 김건희 여사를 법의 심판대 위에 세울 수 있단 말인가”라고 역설했다.

그러면서 “김건희 특검을 통해 지난 2년 반 동안 벌어진 국정농단의 진상을 규명하고, 김건희 여사는 지은 죄에 응당한 죗값을 받아야 한다”고 주장을 이어갔다.

이와 함께 “국민 무서운 줄 모르는 대통령은 나라를 망치는 존재일 뿐. 제 가족의 범죄를 감싸기 위해 거부권을 휘둘러 입법부의 기능을 무력화시킨 대통령의 행위는 탄핵의 사유”라고 강조했다.

진보당 대구시당은 “국민의 요구를 무시한 대한민국 대통령은 더 이상 필요 없다”며 “세 번째 김건희 특검법 거부에 대한 국민들의 답은 파면이고 퇴진”이라고 덧붙여 말했다.
