정부는 올해 1월부터 개정된 ‘식품표시광고법’에 따라, 영업자 등에게 마약류 및 이와 유사한 표시 또는 광고를 하지 아니하도록 권고 조치하고 있다.

그러나 마약류 표시·광고 규제 대상이 식품으로만 한정되어 있어 담배는 규제의 사각지대에 놓였다.

이로 인해 대마(大麻)의 향을 가미한 액상 전자담배가 온·오프라인을 통해 시중에 유통되고 있는 상황이다. 

심지어 한 온라인 쇼핑몰에서는 실제 대마 흡연 증상을 나타내는 용어들까지 사용하며 대마향 담배를 광고하고 있는 것으로 파악됐다.

이에 송언석 의원은  ‘마약향 담배’의 광고·수입·제조·판매를 전면 금지하는 ‘담배사업법 일부개정법률안’을 대표발의했다. 

그는 “마약의 향을 가미한 담배는 마약에 대한 호기심을 자극해 마약 범죄를 부추길 수 있어 우리 일상 깊숙이 침투한 마약 문제를 더욱 악화시킬 우려가 크다”고 설명했다.

그러면서 “마약향 담배의 유통을 전면 금지해, 마약에 대한 사회적 경각심을 높일 필요가 있다”며 “법안이 조속히 통과되길 바란다”고 덧붙였다.

He explained, “Cigarettes with drug flavoring can stimulate curiosity about drugs and incite drug crimes, which is a great concern that will further worsen the drug problem that has deeply penetrated our daily lives.” He added, “We need to completely ban the distribution of drug-flavored cigarettes to raise social awareness about drugs,” and “I hope the bill passes quickly.”
