이번 피켓 시위는 더불어민주당의 삼권분립을 위반하는 위헌적 입법 행위와 근거 없는 탄핵 추진으로 사법부를 장악하려는 시도를 규탄하기 위해 진행됐다.

5일부터 7일(오후 3시 기준)까지 3일간 진행된 1인 피켓 시위에는 정희용 의원을 비롯한 고령군․성주군․칠곡군 당원 37명이 참여해 한뜻으로 릴레이 시위를 이어갔다.

정희용 의원은 지난 6일 칠곡군 왜관읍 로얄사거리에서 시위에 나서 “민주당의 보복․방탄용 검사탄핵은 사법부를 흔들겠다는 꼼수이며, 법치를 파괴하고 헌법을 훼손하는 명백한 위법 행위”라고 말했다.

이어 “국민의힘은 민생은 뒤로한 채 오로지 국정과 수사기관 마비에만 몰두하는 민주당의 행태에 끝까지 맞서 싸워나가겠다”면서 “책임 있는 여당 구성원의 한 사람으로서 ‘일하는 민생 국회’를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

He continued, “The People Power Party will continue to fight to the end against the Democratic Party’s behavior of focusing only on paralyzing government affairs and investigative agencies while leaving the people’s livelihood behind. As a responsible member of the ruling party, I will do my best to create a ‘National Assembly that works for the people’s livelihood.’” He said.
