【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=이상길 북구청장 예비후보가 북구를 로봇·AI 산업의 중심지로 육성하고, 금호강을 국가정원으로 지정하겠다는 계획을 내놨다.

이 후보는 미래산업 육성을 위한 구체적인 방안으로 휴머노이드 기술개발 지원센터와 안전인증센터 설립을 약속했다. 또 금호워터폴리스를 디지털·첨단제조 기회발전특구로 지정하겠다고 밝혔다. 

경북대학교, 칠곡경북대학교병원과 연계해 의료산업 클러스터를 조성하고, 산업 기반도 단계적으로 확대한다는 구상이다.

도심 재생과 문화 인프라 확충도 주요 공약에 담겼다. 이 후보는 노후 주거지와 유휴부지를 창의활동 전진기지로 탈바꿈시키고, 국립근대미술관과 뮤지컬 콤플렉스 등 문화시설을 유치해 도시 활력을 불어넣겠다는 방침이다.

금호강을 중심으로 한 관광·마이스(MICE) 활성화 전략도 제시됐다. 금호강을 국가정원으로 지정해 수변공간을 특화하고, EXCO와 아레나 등 주요 거점과 연계하는 ‘랜드마크 라인’을 조성하겠다고 설명했다.

주민 참여를 확대하기 위한 방안도 공약에 포함됐다. 이 후보는 ‘1대학 1협력사업’, ‘1동 1현안사업 주민결정제’를 통해 대학과 청년, 주민이 정책 결정 과정에 함께할 수 있는 구조를 만들겠다고 밝혔다.

안전 및 복지 분야에선 무장애 보행환경 구축, 스마트 AI 행정 도입, CCTV 확대, 통합 돌봄 체계 강화 등을 추진하겠다고 강조했다.

이상길 후보는 “성장 없는 안정은 곧 정체”라며 “이제는 관리 중심에서 성장 중심으로 북구의 패러다임을 바꿔야 한다”고 말했다. 이어 “휴머노이드와 AI 산업 인프라 구축을 통해 북구를 대구 경제의 미래 중심지로 만들겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

Lee Sang-gil, a preliminary candidate for the position of Buk-gu District Mayor, has unveiled plans to foster Buk-gu into a hub for the robot and AI industries and to designate the Geumho River as a national garden.

As concrete measures to cultivate future industries, Candidate Lee promised to establish a Humanoid Technology Development Support Center and a Safety Certification Center. Measures to expand resident participation were also included in his pledges. Candidate Lee stated that he would establish a structure where universities, youth, and residents can participate in the policy-making process through initiatives such as the "One University, One Cooperation Project" and the "One Neighborhood, One Pending Project Resident Decision System."

In the safety and welfare sectors, he emphasized that he would pursue the establishment of barrier-free pedestrian environments, the introduction of smart AI administration, the expansion of CCTVs, and the strengthening of the integrated care system.

Candidate Lee Sang-gil said, "Stability without growth is stagnation," adding, "We must now shift the paradigm of Buk-gu from a management-centered approach to a growth-centered one." He further expressed his ambition, stating, "I will make Buk-gu the future center of Daegu's economy by building infrastructure for humanoid and AI industries."
