【브레이크뉴스 경산】진예솔 기자=친일 및 독재 옹호 논란이 일고 있는 한국사 교과서를 채택한 경북 경산의 문명고등학교가 21일 입장 발표에 나섰다.

이날 대신대학교 본관 세미나실에서 열린 기자회견에서 문명고 임준희 교장은 한국사 교과서 선정에 대한 학교의 입장을 밝혔다.

임 교장은 “학교의 순수한 교육활동을 방해하는 정치적 공세를 중단시키고 교육 현장의 자율성과 전문성을 지키며 불법적 외부 압력으로부터 온전한 교육활동을 지키기 위한 대응”이라고 말했다.

그러면서 “검․인정 체제의 장점을 살려 한국사 교과서 검정 통과 9종 중 교과협의회 심의와 학교운영위원회 심의를 거쳐 최종적으로 원안을 통과시키는 절차를 준수했다”며 교과서 선정 절차를 설명했다.

또한 “학교 교육은 헌법이 규정한 교육의 자주성, 전문성, 정치적 중립성이 보장되어야 한다”며 “교원의 정당한 교육활동 행위를 부당하게 간섭하는 행위는 교권 보호 특별법 제19조에 위배되는 것”이라고 강조했다.

임 교장은 “교과서 선정 관련 언론 보도가 있고 난 뒤 일부 정치인은 법적 근거 없이 교과서 선정과 관련된 자료를 요구하며 압박을 가했고, 교육청 또한 학교의 자주적인 교육활동을 존중하지 않은 채 부당한 개입을 시도했다”고 주장했다.

이와 함께 “일부 언론은 교과서 선정 과정을 확인하지 않은 채 악의적 프레임을 씌우는 보도를 내보내고 사전 동의 없이 미성년자인 학생들을 인터뷰한 사실이 밝혀졌다”며 “이는 보호자의 동의를 필수로 하는 언론 보도 준칙을 위반한 행위로, 학생들의 권익을 심각하게 훼손한 사례”라고 비판했다.

임준희 교장은 “불법적 압력과 편파적 보도에 민·형사적 책임을 묻고, 교권 보호를 위해 관련자를 부조리신고센터에 고발할 계획”이라고 말했다.

아울러 “교육 현장은 정치 이념 세력의 부당한 간섭에서 자유로워야 하며, 교사의 교권과 학생의 학습권을 침해하는 행위는 단호히 대처할 것”이라고 덧붙여 말했다.
