【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=DGIST(총장 이건우)가 달성군 내 고등학생 대상 ‘코딩캠프’를 성공적으로 마무리했다고 19일 밝혔다.

지난 15일과 16일 DGIST와 대구 달성군이 미래 우수 과학인재를 유치하고, 지역 사회의 발전에 기여하고자 함께 마련한 ‘코딩캠프’가 DGIST 캠퍼스에서 진행됐다.

캠프에는 대구소프트웨어마이스터고, 현풍고, 포산고, 심인고, 대원고, 비슬고에서 총 42명이 참가했다.

학생들은 실질적인 AI와 소프트웨어 능력을 향상시키기 위해 마련된 ▶코딩 프로젝트 구현 ▶DGIST 교원 특강 ▶생성형 AI 교육 ▶DGIST 캠퍼스 투어 등을 체험했다.

이번 캠프는 학생들이 처음부터 끝까지 주도적으로 참여할 수 있도록 진행됐다. 학생들이 조를 구성하는 과정을 통해 각자의 강점을 어필했고 조를 구성한 후에는 창의력을 발휘해 참신한 프로그램을 만들었다.

캠프에 참가한 학생들은 “평소에 배우던 코딩 수업과 다르게 이번에는 처음부터 끝까지 내가 직접 참여한 느낌이었다” 며 “개발자가 된 것 같은 기분이 들어 정말 신났고, 친구들과 힘을 합쳐 좋은 결과물을 만들게 되어 매우 뿌듯하다”고 소감을 전했다.

DGIST 관계자는 “지역 내 과학 인재 발굴 및 양성이 지역 발전의 핵심이 되고 있다” 며 “이번 코딩캠프를 통해 달성군 학생들이 DGIST와 더 가까워지고, 과학자의 꿈을 갖는 계기가 되었길 바란다”고 말했다.

Students who participated in the camp said, “Unlike the coding classes I usually take, this time I felt like I was directly involved from start to finish,” and “It was really exciting to feel like I was a developer, and I am very proud to be able to work together with my friends to create great results.” A DGIST official said, “Discovering and nurturing local scientific talent is becoming the key to regional development,” and “I hope that this coding camp will help Dalseong-gun students get closer to DGIST and have the opportunity to dream of becoming scientists.”
