【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구 대덕문화전당이 청년 작가의 사진·영상 전시 '제2회 K-청년 사진영상축제: 시선이 그리는 지평'과 함께 '2025년 남구청년예술제'의 서막을 연다.

현대사진영상학회가 주최·주관하고 대덕문화전당이 공동 주관하는 이번 축제는 전국 공모로 선발된 30세 이하 청년 작가 25명의 사진·영상 작품 150여 점을 선보인다. 

청년 세대의 시각과 시대적 고민을 담은 작품들을 통해 미래 한국 사진·영상예술의 방향을 모색한다는 취지다.

전시는 공모에 참여한 71명 가운데 포트폴리오 심사를 거쳐 선정된 작가들의 작품으로 구성됐다.

심사에는 정훈 현대사진영상학회 회장을 비롯해 미술 평론가, 사진작가, 전국 대학 교수진이 참여했으며, 큐레이션과 디자인도 2030 세대가 주도해 젊은 감각을 더했다.

축제 기간에는 포트폴리오 리뷰, 청년 사진·영상인의 밤, 네트워킹 프로그램 등 청년 예술인들의 교류와 성장을 돕는 다양한 부대 행사도 진행된다.

총괄 기획자인 정훈 회장은 "'제2회 K-청년 사진영상축제'는 올해 동아시아 청년 예술인의 교류와 국제적 소개 플랫폼 구축에 주력하여 한국 사진영상예술의 위상을 높여나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.

조재구 남구청장은 "청년 작가를 발굴하고 예비 예술인에게 예술적 발판이 될 본전시와 함께 청년 예술의 발원지로서 남구가 앞으로도 많은 응원과 지원으로 청년들에게 힘이 되겠다"고 전했다.

Daegu's Nam-gu Daedeok Cultural Center will kick off the "2025 Nam-gu Youth Arts Festival" with the "2nd K-Youth Photography and Video Festival: Horizons Drawn by Perspectives," an exhibition of photography and video by young artists.

Hosted and organized by the Contemporary Photography and Video Society and co-hosted by the Daedeok Cultural Center, the festival will showcase approximately 150 photography and video works by 25 young artists under the age of 30, selected through a nationwide competition.

The festival aims to explore the future direction of Korean photography and video art through works that capture the perspectives of the younger generation and the concerns of the times.

The exhibition features works by artists selected through portfolio screening among the 71 applicants.

The judging panel included Jeong Hoon, President of the Contemporary Photography and Video Society, as well as art critics, photographers, and university professors from across the country. The curation and design were also spearheaded by the 2030 generation, adding a youthful sensibility.

During the festival, various side events will be held to support the exchange and growth of young artists, including portfolio reviews, a night for young photographers and videographers, and networking programs.

Chairman Jeong Hoon, who is the general planner, stated, "This year, the '2nd K-Youth Photo & Video Festival' will focus on fostering exchanges and establishing an international platform for young East Asian artists, thereby elevating the status of Korean photography and video art."

Nam-gu District Mayor Cho Jae-gu stated, "With this main exhibition, which will discover young artists and serve as a springboard for aspiring artists, Nam-gu, as a cradle of youth art, will continue to provide support and encouragement to young people."
