【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 어버이날을 맞아 지역 어르신들에게 ‘스마트 경로당’을 통해 온라인 인사를 전하며 디지털 시대의 경로효친을 실천했다.

조재구 남구청장은 지난 8일, 임소남 대한노인회 대구남구지회장과 함께 비대면 영상 인사를 통해 관내 경로당 어르신들에게 감사와 존경의 마음을 전했다. 

이번 인사는 어르신들의 건강하고 행복한 노후를 기원하고, 효의 가치를 되새기는 뜻깊은 자리였다.

남구청은 지난 3월 ‘스마트 경로당’ 조성 사업을 마무리하고, 이 공간을 어르신들의 정보 접근성과 사회적 소통을 돕는 복지 거점으로 활용하고 있다. 스마트 경로당은 양방향 화상 플랫폼과 건강측정기기 등을 갖춰 비대면 교육과 여가·복지 프로그램을 운영하며, 고령층의 디지털 격차 해소에도 기여하고 있다.

조재구 구청장은 “어버이날을 맞아 지역 어르신들께 존경과 감사의 인사를 드린다”며 “남구는 어르신들의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 다양한 정책을 지속적으로 펼치고 있다”고 밝혔다. 

이어 “스마트 경로당은 단순한 공간을 넘어 소통과 배움, 건강 관리의 장이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 온라인 인사를 정례화해 어르신들의 디지털 역량도 함께 키워나가겠다”고 말했다.

남구의 스마트 경로당 운영은 복지와 디지털을 접목한 선도 사례로 다른 지자체의 주목도 받고 있다. 지난해 10월 전남 나주시를 시작으로 올해 3월까지 10여 개 지자체가 남구청을 방문해 운영 방식과 성과를 공유받은 것으로 알려졌다.

조 구청장은 “어르신 한 분 한 분이 존중받고 소외되지 않도록 경로효친의 정신을 행정에 적극 반영하겠다”며 “남구가 어르신 모두에게 따뜻한 울타리가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.

Daegu Nam-gu celebrated Parents' Day by sending online greetings to local seniors through the 'Smart Senior Center' and practicing filial piety in the digital age.

On the 8th, Nam-gu Mayor Cho Jae-gu and Daegu Nam-gu Branch President Lim So-nam of the Korean Senior Citizens' Association conveyed their gratitude and respect to the seniors at the district senior centers through a non-face-to-face video greeting.

This greeting was a meaningful occasion to wish the seniors a healthy and happy old age and to reflect on the value of filial piety.

Nam-gu Office completed the 'Smart Senior Center' construction project in March and is using this space as a welfare center to help seniors access information and communicate socially. The Smart Senior Center is equipped with a two-way video platform and health measurement devices to operate non-face-to-face education and leisure/welfare programs, and is also contributing to resolving the digital gap among the elderly.

Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, “I would like to express my respect and gratitude to the senior citizens in the region on Parents’ Day,” and added, “Nam-gu is continuously implementing various policies to improve the quality of life of the senior citizens.”

He continued, “The smart senior citizens’ center will go beyond a simple space and become a place for communication, learning, and health management,” and added, “We will continue to regularize online greetings to develop the digital capabilities of the senior citizens.”

Nam-gu’s smart senior citizens’ center operation is a leading example of combining welfare and digital technologies, and is drawing attention from other local governments. Starting with Naju-si, Jeollanam-do in October of last year, more than 10 local governments have visited Nam-gu Office to share their operation methods and achievements through March of this year.

Mayor Cho emphasized, “We will actively reflect the spirit of filial piety for the elderly in our administration so that each and every senior citizen is respected and not marginalized,” and “We will do our best to make Nam-gu a warm fence for all senior citizens.”
