29일 오후 2시 영덕읍 소재 선거사무소에서 개소식을 연 강 예비후보는 앞서 6대 핵심 공약으로 밝혔던 ‘노지형 무인 농기계 실증센터’ 유치를 언급하며 첨단 4족 로봇과 드론을 소개했다.

특히 AI기술을 적용한 4족 로봇이 물건을 싣고 이동하는 모습을 시연하고 영덕 5일장을 찾아 장보기에 나서며 우리 일상에서 어떻게 로봇이 활용되는지 실증을 이어갔다.

4족 보행 로봇은 국내 생산 및 판매를 추진하고, 전 세계에 수출할 계획으로 알려졌다. 4족 로봇은 실내에서만 활용 가능했던 기존의 서빙로봇과는 달리 일상생활 어디서나 운용할 수 있어 로봇의 대중화에 불을 지필 것으로 보인다.

강 예비후보는  “4족 로봇의 등장은 노면이 고르지 않는 산지나 노지에서 과수 수확 등을 가능케 할 유용한 다양한 기술들이 접목될 수 있을 것”이라며 “국회에 입성하게 되면 로봇이 농업 등 다양한 산업분야에 적용, 생산성을 높임으로써 경제문제를 해결할 수 있도록 법, 제도개선에 앞장서겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
