【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=영덕군은 지역특산물인 황금은어 산란기를 맞아 9월 1일부터 10월 31일까지 은어 포획금지 위반행위에 대한 집중 지도·단속에 들어간다고 밝혔다.

군에 따르면 황금은어 산란기인 9~10월은 내수면 어업법 상 포획금지 기간으로, 이를 위반하면 1년 이하의 징역 또는 1,000만 원 이하의 벌금에 처한다.

영덕군은 은어 포획금지 기간을 알리기 위해 현수막, 경고판 등을 주요 하천인 오십천과 송천 등에 설치하고, 관광객과 낚시꾼 등을 대상으로 적극적인 동참을 유도하고 있다.

또한 내수면 불법 어업 민간감시원과 협업해 자체단속반을 편성, 지속적인 단속 활동을 강화하고 위반자 적발 시 내수면어업법 등 관련 법령에 따라 처벌할 계획이다.

아울러 단속반은 같은 기간 은어 외에도 무허가 자망과 투망, 유해물질, 전류 등을 사용하는 등 내수면어업 관계 법령 위반행위에 대한 단속도 병행하게 된다.

문성준 영덕부군수는 “은어는 영덕군을 대표하는 어종으로 그 유전적 특성과 개체수 보존을 위해 매년 영덕황금은어종보존회와 함께 주요 하천에 지속적으로 치어를 방류하는 등 자원 보호에 노력을 기울이고 있다”며, “은어 산란철인 9~10월에는 포획이 엄격하게 금지돼 있는 만큼 어족자원 보호를 위해 적극 동참 해주시길 바란다”고 당부했다.
