【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경상북도선거관리위원회가 지방선거 관련 불법 인쇄물을 배부·살포하고 선관위 직원을 협박·폭행한 자를 경찰에 고발했다고 밝혔다.

군위군선거관리위원회에 따르면 지난달 26일 A씨가 군위군수 예비후보자인 B씨에 대해 부정적인 내용이 기재된 인쇄물을 군위군 관내에 배부·살포하였으며 선관위의 출석요구에 정당한 사유 없이 불응하였을 뿐만 아니라 선관위 직원에게 욕설을 하고 둔기를 사용한 혐의가 있어 군위경찰서에 고발했다고 밝혔다.

「공직선거법」제93조(탈법방법에 의한 문서·도화의 배부·게시등 금지)에는 누구든지 선거일전 180일부터 선거일까지 선거에 영향을 미치게 하기 위하여 이 법의 규정에 의하지 아니하고는 후보자(후보자가 되고자 하는 자 포함)를 지지·추천하거나 반대하는 내용이 포함되어 있거나 후보자의 성명을 나타내는 인쇄물 등을 배부·첩부·살포할 수 없으며, 이를 위반한 경우 제255조(부정선거운동죄)에서 ‘5년 이하의 징역 또는 1천만원 이하의 벌금에 처한다’라고 규정되어 있다.

  같은 법 제244조(선거사무관리관계자나 시설등에 대한 폭행·교란죄)에는 선관위 위원·직원, 공정선거지원단, 투표사무원 등 선거사무 종사자를 폭행·협박·유인 또는 불법으로 체포·감금하는 경우 ‘1년 이상 10년 이하의 징역 또는 500만원 이상 3천만원 이하의 벌금에 처한다’라고 되어있다. 

선관위 관계자는 “위원·직원, 투표사무원 등 선거사무 종사자를 협박·폭행하여 공정한 선거관리업무에 지장을 준 경우 고발 등의 강력한 조치를 할 것이다.”라며 각별한 주의를 당부했다.
