【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=이근수 전 대구 북구 부구청장이 9일 오전 10시 30분 국민의힘 대구시당에서 기자회견을 열고 제9회 전국동시지방선거 대구 북구청장 출마를 공식 선언했다.

이 전 부구청장은 “지난 33년간 공직 현장에서 행정의 시작과 끝을 책임져 온 행정 전문가로서, 북구의 현안을 말이 아닌 실행으로 풀어내겠다”며 “미래 100년을 내다보는 북구의 번영을 위해 과감히 도전하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어서 “북구의 문제가 어디에 있고, 왜 해결되지 않았는지, 앞으로 어떻게 풀어야 하는지 이미 잘 알고 있다”며 “북구에 필요한 것은 새로운 구호보다 즉시 실행할 수 있는 행정”이라고 덧붙였다.

이 전 부구청장은 북구가 노후화된 도시환경, 침체된 지역경제, 청년 인구 유출, 골목상권 붕괴, 주차·교통 불편, 늘어나는 복지 수요 등 복합적인 위기에 직면해 있다고 진단했다. 이어 “구청장은 배우는 자리가 아니라, 취임과 동시에 곧바로 일해야 하는 자리”라며 자신의 행정 경험을 재차 부각시켰다.

이날 이 전 부구청장은 ‘미래 비전도시, 활력 넘치는 경제도시, 녹색도시, 문화도시, 건강·복지의 행복도시, 주민과 함께하는 책임 행정’을 북구의 그랜드 비전으로 제시했다.

도시 인프라 분야와 관련해서는 도시철도 4호선 착공과 조야~동명 간 도로, 금호워터폴리스 산업도로 개설 등을 통해 동서남북의 교통 중심지로 북구를 키우겠다고 밝혔다. 또한 UAM과 자율주행 등 미래형 교통수단 시범 도입 계획도 내놓았다.

경제 부문에선 금호워터폴리스 기회특구 지정, 경북도청 후적지 도심융합특구 및 경북대 캠퍼스 혁신파크 조성을 통한 산업 혁신 거점 구축을 추진하겠다는 계획이다. 프랑스 파리의 ‘스테이션F’를 벤치마킹한 대구형 창업허브 조성, 50보병사단 후적지의 신공항 연계 첨단산업 유치 구상도 밝혔다.

환경·관광 분야에서는 금호강 르네상스 완성과 하중도의 사계절 관광거점 조성, 국가정원 추진, 금호강 수변을 따라 팔달대교~동변동을 잇는 장거리 데크 산책로 조성 등을 제시했다. 이 외에도 공원 및 녹지, 생활 SOC 확충을 통해 주거 환경의 질을 높이겠다는 방침이다.

문화 부문에서는 경북도청 후적지에 국립근대미술관, 국립뮤지컬 콤플렉스, 유네스코 음악창의교류원 조성을 제안했다. 강북권 문화 인프라 확충을 위해 구수산스포츠센터 준공과 복현동 대구시립도서관 유치도 공약했다.

복지 분야에서는 대구형 통합돌봄 완성, 노인·장애인 찾아가는 돌봄 강화, 노인여가시설 리모델링 및 시니어 스마트 체험 공간 확충, 가족 유형별 맞춤형 돌봄 서비스 확대를 약속했다.

행정 운영과 관련해선 주민참여예산제의 실질적 운영과 동 단위 생활 민원 신속 해결 등 현장 중심 행정체계를 구축하겠다고 밝혔다. 주요 정책 과정과 결과 또한 투명하게 공개해 ‘말이 아닌 결과’로 책임지는 구청장임을 강조했다.

이 전 부구청장은 “통합신공항이 성공하면 북구는 세계와 연결되는 공항 배후도시로 성장할 수 있다”며 “사람이 중심인 북구, 경제가 살아나는 북구, 미래가 준비된 북구를 42만 북구민과 함께 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
