박 전 이사장은 8일 국민의힘 공천 서류 접수 마감일에 맞춰 입장문을 발표했다. 그는 “북구의 새로운 도약과 대전환을 위해 뜻을 모으기로 했다”며 이근수 예비후보 지지를 공개적으로 선언했다.

이어 “침체된 지역 경제를 되살리고 구민의 삶의 질을 높이려면, 진짜 일꾼이 필요하다”며 “북구의 미래를 책임질 적임자는 이근수 후보”라고 강조했다.

박 전 이사장은 이 후보 지지 이유로 △북구 현안 해결을 위한 추진력과 전문성 △현장 목소리를 듣는 소통 철학 △준비된 미래 비전 등을 꼽았다. 그는 “이 후보가 그리는 북구의 미래가 내가 꿈꿔온 지역의 모습과 맞닿아 있다”고 설명했다.

이근수 예비후보는 “박 전 이사장의 큰 결단에 깊이 감사드린다”며 “그의 경제 분야 경험과 식견을 정책에 적극 반영해 지역 발전에 힘쓰겠다”고 화답했다. 이와 함께 금호워터폴리스와 검단산업단지를 잇는 경제벨트 구축 구상도 내비쳤다.
