이날 회의에는 영천시와 한약축제 추진위원회 위원장 등 관계자 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 한약축제의 기획 방향과 발전방안 등을 논의하며 본격적인 축제 준비에 돌입했다.

“지금은 면역력이 필요할 때! 영천한약축제에서 한방에 해결!”이라는 주제로 오는 10월 14일부터 16일까지 3일간 영천한의마을 일원에서 열리는 ‘제20회 영천한약축제’는 다양한 한방 체험, 먹거리촌, 야간경관 조명 등의 프로그램으로 영천시민과 관광객의 화합의 장을 마련할 계획이다.

한편, 제21회 영천과일축제도 동시에 개최하여 영천의 우수 과일 및 농특산물을 홍보하여 다양한 방문객을 유치할 계획이라고 전했다.

서종만 한약축제 추진위원장은 “코로나19로 인해 중단됐던 영천한약축제가 3년 만에 재개되면서 사회적 거리두기 장기화로 지친 시민과 관광객에게 치유 및 힐링의 장이 되기를 바란다”며 “침체된 지역 경제에 새 바람을 일으켜 성공적인 축제가 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
