김정재 의원, 23년 포항-수서 고속철도 신설 이끌어내

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=김정재 국회의원(국민의힘·포항북구)은 29일 서울 강남구에 위치한 수서역에서 어명소 국토부 차관과 간담회를 갖고 포항-수서 고속철도 노선 신설에 대해 협의했다고 밝혔다.
이날 김정재 의원은 어명소 차관과 함께 수서역 SRT 내 승객 이용 편의시설을 시찰하고 ‘포항-수서 고속철도 노선 신설을 위한 간담회’를 가졌다.
김 의원은 현재 포화상태인 동해선 KTX의 이용률을 강조하며, 경북 동해안 지역민의 강남권역 교통 불편 문제를 해소하기 위해 포항-수서 고속철도 노선 신설의 필요성을 강조했다.
이에 어명소 차관은 “경북 동해안 지역민의 교통 불편을 공감한다”며 “포항-수서 고속철도 노선 신설을 2023년도 국토부 업무계획에 포함시켜 내년 중 노선을 개통하겠다”고 말했다.
김정재 의원은 “정부의 노선 확충 결정을 환영한다”면서 “포항에서 강남권인 수서역으로 바로 연결되는 고속철도가 포항시민에게 편리한 발이 될 수 있길 기대하며, 앞으로도 지역민이 느끼는 교통 불평등을 해소하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
