【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=대한적십자사 경북지사(회장 김재왕)는 지난 18일, 포항시 경북적십자사 동부봉사관에서지역 취약계층 어르신200명을 대상으로 동지 맞이 팥죽나눔 봉사활동을 진행했다고 21일 밝혔다.

이날 행사는 ㈜융진의 기부(200만원)로 마련됐으며, 포항철강관리공단 및 ㈜융진 임직원,포항시지구협의회 봉사원 20여 명이 참여해 직접 조리한 팥죽 나눔 행사를 진행했다.

팥죽을 드신 한 어르신은 “동짓날이 다가오는데, 봉사원들께서직접 정성이 가득 담긴 팥죽을 만들어주니 고마운 마음”이라고 감사의 인사를 전했다.

최연희 적십자봉사회 포항지구협의회 회장은“일 년 중 가장 춥다는날씨가 이어지고 있는 이때 어르신들이 따뜻한 팥죽을 드시고 한해의 액운을 물리치고 복을 기원하시기를 염원하는 마음”이라고 소감을 밝혔다.

한편, 대한적십자사 경북지사는 개인·기업·단체에서 기부하는 적십자회비 및 기부금으로 ‘희망풍차위기가정 긴급지원’ 사업을 진행하면서 어려운 상황에 처해 있는 도내 위기가정을 상시 발굴해맞춤형 지원을 실시하고, 결연을 통해 봉사원의 정기적 방문과 물품지원으로 안정적인 생활 유지를돕고 있다.
