【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코그룹이 2026년 병오년(丙午年) 새해를 맞아 안전과 현장경영을 앞세운 시무식을 열고 본격적인 경영 행보에 나섰다.

포스코홀딩스와 포스코는 2일 포스코가 기부해 조성한 포항의 랜드마크 ‘스페이스워크’에서 시무식을 개최했다. 장인화 포스코그룹 회장을 비롯해 포항 주재 사업회사 대표, 포스코홀딩스 및 4대 사업회사 본부장, 포스코 임직원과 협력사, 노경협 전사 대표, 노동조합 위원장 등이 참석해 새해 해맞이를 하며 그룹의 무재해와 경영목표 달성을 다짐했다고 밝혔다.

시무식 직후 장 회장은 포항제철소 2후판공장과 2제강공장을 차례로 방문해 현장 근로자들을 격려했다. 새해 첫 공식 일정부터 생산 현장을 찾으며 ‘현장 중심 경영’ 의지를 분명히 한 것이다.

각 사업회사들도 현장에서 안전을 강조하는 시무행사를 이어갔다. 포스코인터내셔널은 청라 인천발전소에서 이계인 사장과 주요 임원, 노동조합위원장이 참석한 가운데 무재해를 다짐했다. 포스코이앤씨는 개통을 앞둔 인천 제3연륙교 건설현장에서 송치영 사장 주재로 신년 안전 다짐 대회를 열었다. 포스코퓨처엠 역시 포항 사방기념공원에서 엄기천 사장을 비롯한 임원과 대의기구 대표들이 참석해 안전 실천 의지를 밝혔다.

장 회장은 신년사에서 “작업 현장의 안전은 생산과 판매, 이익보다도 우선하는 절대 가치”라며 “근로자가 작업장 안전 관리의 주체가 되는 문화를 정착시켜 K-세이프티(K-Safety) 모범 사례를 확산시켜야 한다”고 말했다.

이어 그는 “철강사업의 본원 경쟁력을 강화하는 동시에 에너지소재사업의 수주 기반을 안정화하고, LNG를 중심으로 한 에너지사업의 수익 창출 역량을 키워야 한다”며 “신사업 발굴을 통해 그룹 사업 포트폴리오를 한층 탄탄히 구축하자”고 강조했다.

장 회장은 또 “AI와 로봇 기술 확산으로 산업 환경이 급변하는 상황에서 기술 초격차를 확보하지 못하면 생존조차 장담할 수 없다”며 Intelligent Factory 구축과 AX(AI 전환)의 중요성을 언급했다.

그는 “열정과 추진력이 강한 붉은 말의 해를 맞아 치밀하게 준비해 온 계획을 속도감 있게 실행해 새로운 도약의 한 해를 만들자”며 임직원들의 적극적인 참여를 당부했다.

포스코그룹은 올해 안전을 경영의 최우선 가치로 두고 현장 중심 경영과 기술 경쟁력 강화를 통해 불확실한 글로벌 경영 환경에 대응해 나갈 계획이다.

In his New Year's address, Chairman Chang stated, "Safety at the workplace is an absolute value that takes precedence over production, sales, and profit."
