의회에 따르면 이날 열린 제2차 본회의에서 예산결산특별위원회(위원장 황현철)는 2026년도 제1회 일반회계 추가경정예산안에 대한 심사 결과를 보고했으며, 군의회는 당초예산 6,347억 원보다 143억 3백만 원을 증액한 총 6,490억 3백만 원 규모의 일반회계 추경예산을 확정했다.

황현철 예산결산특별위원장은 심사 결과 보고를 통해 “고물가와 경기 침체가 장기화되는 상황에서 지역경제 회복과 군민 생활 안정을 위해 재정적 지원이 필요하다고 판단했다”며 “울진군의 재정 여건을 고려해 어렵게 편성된 예산인 만큼, 사업 취지에 맞게 효과적으로 집행될 수 있도록 신속하고 투명한 사업 추진을 당부한다”고 밝혔다.

김정희 의장은 폐회사를 통해 “이번 임시회를 통해 침체된 지역경제 회복과 군민 생활 안정을 위한 제도적·재정적 기반을 마련했다”며 “이제 중요한 것은 실질적인 성과를 만드는 것”이라고 강조했다.

이어 “집행부는 사업 추진 과정에서 의원들의 다양한 의견을 충분히 반영해 지역경제 활성화와 민생 안정이라는 목표를 달성할 수 있도록 책임 있는 사업 추진에 만전을 기해 달라”며 “오늘 의회의 결정이 어려운 시기를 견디고 있는 군민들에게 희망의 신호가 되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
