‘우리 대게, 진짜 대게, 울진대게’를 슬로건으로 내건 올해 축제는 단순한 먹거리 행사를 넘어 관광객이 머물며 체험하고 즐기는 참여형 문화축제로 기획됐다.

축제 첫날에는 지역 예술인들의 공연을 시작으로, 대게잡이 원조 마을인 거일마을의 유래를 담은 홍보관과 울진대게 팝업스토어가 운영된다. 새롭게 선보이는 축제 캐릭터 ‘대빵이’도 행사장 곳곳에서 관광객을 맞이하며 포토존과 다양한 이벤트를 통해 축제 브랜드 이미지를 강화할 예정이다.

둘째 날에는 대표 프로그램인 ‘읍·면 대항 게줄당기기’가 열려 지역민과 관광객이 함께하는 화합의 장이 마련된다. 개막식 공식 행사에서는 울진대게 플래시몹 공연을 시작으로 박서진, 박주희 등 인기가수들의 축하 무대가 이어지며 축제 분위기를 고조시킬 예정이다.

셋째 날에는 총상금 240만 원이 걸린 ‘게판 끼자랑대회’가 열려 방문객들이 숨은 재능을 선보이는 참여 무대가 펼쳐진다. 정수연과 진해성의 공연도 예정돼 있어 축제의 열기를 한층 끌어올릴 전망이다. 이와 함께 축제의 시그니처 프로그램인 ‘대형 게장 비빔밥 퍼포먼스’를 통해 관광객에게 무료 시식 기회도 제공된다.

행사 기간 상설 프로그램도 다양하다. 직접 대게를 낚는 손맛을 체험할 수 있는 ‘붉은대게 낚시 체험’과 합리적인 가격에 참여할 수 있는 ‘대게 즉석 경매’는 매년 높은 호응을 얻고 있다. 울진붉은대게 1일 100박스(8미) 한정 판매와 게살덮밥 무료 제공 행사도 마련돼 방문객들의 발길을 끌 것으로 기대된다.

특히 올해는 관광객 편의를 위해 후포 마리나항에서 축제장까지 운항하는 셔틀보트와 무료 요트 승선 체험을 운영, 해상에서 후포항의 경관을 감상할 수 있는 특별한 경험을 제공한다.

이밖에도 행사장 내 영수증 이벤트를 통한 지역 상권 활성화 프로그램과 함께 어린이 관광객을 위한 VR 스케치, 캐리커처, 아쿠아 모스 키링 만들기 등 키즈 체험존도 운영된다.

울진군 관계자는 “왕돌초의 천혜 환경과 오랜 역사 속에서 자란 울진대게의 진가를 확인하는 시간이 되길 바란다”며 “동해의 맛과 다채로운 체험이 어우러진 이번 축제에서 초봄의 특별한 추억을 만들길 기대한다”고 말했다.

The first day of the festival will feature performances by local artists, followed by a promotional hall showcasing the history of Geoil Village, the birthplace of snow crab fishing, and an Uljin Snow Crab pop-up store. The newly introduced festival character, "Daepbangi," will also be present throughout the festival grounds, welcoming visitors with photo zones and various events to enhance the festival's brand image.

On the second day, the signature program, "Crab Tug-of-War between Towns and Villages," will be held, creating a space for local residents and tourists to come together.
