이번 전시에서는 회화 연작 ‘설계된 도시풍경’과 설치 작품 ‘FOR SALE, YOUR DREAM’ 등 다양한 작업을 선보인다. 작품을 통해 현대 도시를 형성하는 보이지 않는 시스템과 주거의 자산화 문제를 탐구한다는 점이 눈길을 끈다.
허 작가는 도시를 단순한 풍경이 아닌, 자본과 효율·규칙 등 복합적인 질서가 중첩된 구조로 바라본다. 회화 작업에서는 반복되는 패턴과 건축 이미지, 명령형 문구의 배열을 통해 도시 공간에 작동하는 시스템을 시각적으로 드러냈다.
설치 작품 ‘FOR SALE, YOUR DREAM’에서는 아파트를 연상시키는 빈 상자 형태의 구조물이 등장한다. 이를 통해 주거 공간이 삶의 터전에서 점차 투자와 거래의 대상으로 바뀌는 현실을 비판적으로 보여준다. 관람객은 구조물 내부를 직접 들여다보며 지역별 가격 정보 등도 확인할 수 있다.
허 작가는 “도시를 단순한 풍경이 아니라 다양한 질서와 충돌이 공존하는 구조로 바라보길 바란다”고 말했다.
