【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=(가칭)경북소프트웨어고등학교(교장 황창기)는 지난 10월 30일 호연관에서 소설‘능소화’의 저자 조두진 작가와 만남의 날 행사를 진행했다고 3일 밝혔다.
‘창의적 상상력과 글쓰기’라는 주제로 이루어진 이번 행사는 학생들이 읽은 작품의 작가를 직접 만나 대화하는 시간을 통해 책에 대한 이해와 흥미를 높이고, 작가의 눈을 통해 세상을 볼 수 있는 기회를 가짐으로써 책 읽기의 즐거움을 발견할 수 있었다.
소설 ‘능소화’는 본교가 위치한 의성과 인접 지역인 안동의 한 무덤에서 실제로 발견된 4백 년 전에 남편에게 부친 아내의 편지를 모티브로 하여 작가의 상상력을 더해 만들어진 작품이다. 이번 행사는 작가가 ‘능소화’를 집필하는 과정에서 느낀 생생한 경험담을 들려줌으로써 창의적인 상상력이 글쓰기의 가장 기본임을 알 수 있는 귀중한 시간이었다.
이번 행사는 초청 작가의 작품 중 하나인‘능소화’를 읽고, 느낀 점이나 생각한 것을 작가에게 편지로 쓰기, 소설 속 주인공의 모습 상상하여 그리기, 주인공이나 등장 인물에게 편지쓰기, 책 내용으로 네 컷 만화 그리기 등으로 알차게 진행됐다.
황창기 교장은 “학생들이 읽은 소설의 작가를 직접 만나는 이번 행사는 문화적으로 소외되어 있는 우리 지역의 학생들에게 귀중한 경험이 되었습니다. 이번 활동을 통하여 학생들의 글쓰기에 대한 흥미가 많아지고, 작가의 꿈을 가진 학생들에게도 많은 도움이 되었을 것.”이라고 그 성과를 말했다.
