【브레이크뉴스 포항】오주호 기자=경북 포항불교사암연합회는 만장일치로 문수사 주지 덕화스님을 제21대 연합회장으로 추대했다.

이달 초 전임 회장이었던 보경사 주지 철산스님이 회장직을 사퇴하면서 지난16일 보경사에서 총회를 열어 차기 회장을 선출하게 됐다.

신임 회장인 덕화스님은 "많은 대중과 각 사찰 스님들과 함께 해야 하는 것이 힘든 일이지만 이번에 소임을 맡아 포항불교를 아우를 수 있도록 여러분들이 많이 도와주시길 바란다"고 말했다.

덕화스님은 앞으로 3년간 포항사암연합회를 이끌게 되며 오는 18일 새로운 집행부를 꾸려 올해 포항지역 봉축행사 준비에 들어갈 예정이다.
