【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자= 대구 달성군은 지난 8월 30일, 달성군여성문화복지센터 대강당에서 필리핀 바콜로드에서 4주간의 영어캠프를 마친 관내 초6학년 30명의 수료식을 진행했다고 3일 밝혔다.

이번 수료식에서 학생들은 필리핀 현지 학교 교류 중에 큰 인기를 얻었던 K-POP 노래와 댄스 공연, 영어 스피치를 직접 선보였다.

그리고 필리핀 현지에서의 학습활동은 물론 다양한 체험활동에 관한 영상도 있어 볼거리가 풍성했다.

30명의 달성둥이들은 현지 초등학교 6학년 학생들과 함께 영어, 수학, 과학 수업에 참여하며 뜻깊은 자리를 가졌다.

캠프에 참가한 A군은 “또래의 외국인 친구들과 같이 수업하는 것이 처음이라 조금 어색했지만, 서로 많은 이야기를 나누며 친해질 수 있었다. 나중에는 헤어지는 것이 아쉬웠다”고 소감을 전했다.

(재)달성교육재단 최재훈 이사장은 “다른 나라의 낯선 환경에 노출된 달성둥이들은 자신에 대한 생각이나 자세가 바로 드러나지 않더라도 분명 보이지 않게 성장했을 것이다”라며 내적으로 성장했을 달성둥이들에 대한 기대감을 드러냈다.

또한, 수료식에 참석한 달성군의회 김은영 의장은 “4주간의 캠프가 좋은 추억으로 남길 바라며, 앞으로의 인생에서 이번 경험이 좋은 기반이 되어 하고 싶은 분야에서 멋지게 도전하면 좋겠다”라고 밝혔다.

한편 (재)달성교육재단은 오는 10월에 ‘2024 초등영어 겨울방학캠프’신청 접수를 받아 30명을 선발할 계획이다.

여름캠프와 마찬가지로 관내 초6학년만 지원 가능하며, 항공료와 개인 용돈을 제외한 일체의 비용은 달성교육재단에서 지원한다. 재단은 높은 경쟁률을 기록했던 여름캠프처럼 겨울캠프도 지역민들의 많은 관심을 기대하고 있다.

Meanwhile, the (Re) Dalseong Education Foundation plans to accept applications for the ‘2024 Elementary English Winter Vacation Camp’ in October and select 30 people.

As with the summer camp, only 6th graders in the district can apply, and all expenses except for airfare and personal expenses will be supported by the Dalseong Education Foundation. Just like the summer camp, which had a high competition rate, the foundation expects a lot of interest from local residents for the winter camp.
