【브레이크뉴스 】이성현 기자=iM금융그룹(회장 황병우)이 지역사회와 함께하는 ESG 실천의 일환으로 ‘iM가족봉사단’을 출범시키고, 식목일을 맞아 팔공산국립공원에서 본격적인 활동을 시작했다.
그룹은 지난 5일 대구 동구 팔공산 수태골 일대에서 **‘제11기 iM가족봉사단 발대식’**을 열고 임명장 수여식을 통해 참여자들의 소속감과 책임감을 고취했다. 이날 행사에는 직원과 가족 등 60여 명이 참여했으며, 국립공원공단 팔공산사무소와 생태계 보전 업무협약을 맺고 공동 식재 활동을 진행했다.
이날 봉사단은 전문가의 지도를 받아 층층나무, 고로쇠나무, 참취 등 총 2,200여 주의 수목을 알맞은 간격으로 심으며 기후변화 대응과 생태계 보전에 실질적으로 기여했다.
‘iM가족봉사단’은 2015년 ‘DGB Family봉사단’으로 창설됐으며, 지난 3월 그룹명이 iM금융그룹으로 변경됨에 따라 명칭도 새롭게 바뀌었다. 앞으로는 환경 보호, 복지시설 봉사, 농촌 일손 돕기 등 다양한 활동을 통해 지역사회 밀착형 나눔을 실천할 예정이다.
황병우 회장은 “iM가족봉사단은 임직원뿐 아니라 미래세대인 자녀들과 함께하는 활동이라는 점에서 더 큰 의미가 있다”며 “지역사회와 환경을 위한 지속 가능한 활동에 앞장서겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 iM금융그룹은 최근 산불 피해 복구를 위해 자원봉사단을 파견하고, 현장 물품 지원 및 주민 후원금, 금융 지원 등 종합적 지원을 실시했다. 그룹은 향후에도 ESG 가치를 기반으로 한 사회공헌 활동을 꾸준히 확대할 계획이다.
