【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=행복북구문화재단이 운영하는 이태원문학관이 지역 주민을 대상으로 ‘우리 동네 그림책 작가’ 참가자를 모집한다. 

이번 프로그램은 지역 주민의 삶과 기억을 그림책으로 기록하는 창작 프로그램으로, 오는 25일부터 신청을 받는다.

행복북구문화재단은 10일, 2026년 이태원문학관 문학 프로그램 ‘우리 동네 그림책 작가’ 참가자를 3월 25일부터 4월 8일까지 모집한다고 밝혔다.

올해로 5회를 맞는 이 프로그램은 주민들의 경험과 추억을 그림책이라는 친근한 방식으로 풀어내 세대 간 소통을 돕고, 지역의 이야기를 문화 기록으로 남기기 위해 기획됐다. 참가자들은 자신의 일상과 기억을 이야기로 정리한 뒤 그림과 글을 더해 한 권의 그림책을 완성하게 된다.

교육은 4월 15일부터 6월 24일까지 총 10회에 걸쳐 이태원문학관에서 진행된다. 수업은 그림책 창작 교육기관 두근두근 그림책연구소의 서주현 강사가 맡아, 이야기 찾기부터 스토리 구성, 캐릭터와 장면 표현, 채색과 편집까지 그림책 제작 전 과정을 단계별로 지도할 예정이다.

프로그램을 마친 뒤에는 참가자들이 만든 그림책이 출판된다. 완성된 작품들은 7월 29일 출판공유회에서 공개되며, 이후 이태원문학관과 지역 문화공간 청문당, 북구 내 5개 도서관 등에도 배포된다. 또 재단 홈페이지를 통해서 전자책으로도 만날 수 있다.

모집 대상은 대구 시민 성인 10명으로, 선착순으로 신청을 받는다. 참가비는 무료이며, 신청은 행복북구문화재단 홈페이지에서 할 수 있다.

박정숙 행복북구문화재단 대표는 “어른들의 삶이 담긴 그림책은 아이들에게는 따뜻한 선물이 되고, 지역사회에는 소중한 기록이 된다”며 “그림책 창작에 관심 있는 시민들의 많은 참여를 바란다”고 전했다.

The Itaewon Literature Hall, operated by the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation, is recruiting local residents to participate in its "Our Neighborhood Picture Book Writer" program.

This creative program, which documents the lives and memories of local residents through picture books, will accept applications starting on the 25th.

The Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation announced on the 10th that it is recruiting participants for the 2026 Itaewon Literature Hall's literature program, "Our Neighborhood Picture Book Writer," from March 25th to April 8th.

This program, now in its fifth year, aims to foster intergenerational communication and preserve local stories as a cultural record by retelling residents' experiences and memories through the accessible medium of picture books. Participants will compile their daily lives and memories into a narrative, then add illustrations and text to create a complete picture book.

The program will run for a total of ten sessions at the Itaewon Literature Hall from April 15th to June 24th. The class will be led by Seo Ju-hyeon, an instructor at the Doki Doki Picture Book Institute, a picture book creation training institute. Participants will guide the entire picture book production process step-by-step, from finding the story and composing the story, portraying characters and scenes, to coloring and editing.

Following the program, the picture books created by the participants will be published. The completed works will be unveiled at a publishing event on July 29th and distributed to the Itaewon Literature Museum, local cultural space Cheongmundang, and five libraries in Buk-gu. They will also be available as e-books on the foundation's website.

The program is open to 10 adult Daegu residents, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation is free, and applications can be made on the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation website.
