25일 포스코에 따르면 포스코휴먼스는 포스코가 장애인 고용창출을 위해 설립한 국내 제1호 자회사형 장애인표준사업장으로 현재 장애직원 308명(전체 직원 646명)이 근무하고 있다.

포스코휴먼스는 장애직원이 다수 근무하고 있는 회사의 특성을 살린 실질적이고 차별화된 장애인 인식개선 교육을 위해 지난해 4월 고용노동부로부터 ‘직장 내 장애인 인식개선’ 교육기관으로 인증을 받았으며, 강사 양성에도 노력하여 18명의 전문 강사진을 보유하고 있다.

또한 올해 2월에는 한국장애인고용공단으로부터 ‘직장 내 장애인 인식개선교육 강사지원 위탁교육기관’으로도 선정되었으며, 학교, 기관, 기업체 등 다양한 계층을 대상으로 총 2,740명에게 무료 출강교육을 제공하기도 했다.

특히 포스코휴먼스 발달장애직원도 파트너 강사로 직접 참여하여 장애인에게 있어 ‘직업의 의미’와 ‘일을 통한 변화된 삶’ 등 자립에 성공한 본인의 리얼 스토리를 생생하게 전달하여 교육의 효과를 더하고 있다.

이외에도 포스코휴먼스는 중증장애직원이 근무하고 있는 클리닝 현장을 자원 봉사처로 운영하면서 봉사와 연계한 체험교육 프로그램도 운영하고 있다. 무엇보다 클리닝 현장에서 장애직원을 도와가며 면수건, 근무복 등의 세탁물 정리 작업을 직접 경험해볼 수 있어서 참여자들의 호응이 높은 가운데 포스코와 그룹사 직원 등 1,410명이 다녀갔다.

교육 프로그램 참여자는 “장애직원들이 밝고 즐겁게 일하는 모습을 보며 삶의 희망찬 에너지가 느껴져서 덩달아 힘을 얻게 됐다. 혼자가 아닌 함께 살아가야 하는 공존과 공생의 중요성에 대해 다시 한번 깨닫게 됐다.”고 소감을 전했다.
