1일 봉화축제관광재단에 따르면 은어잡이 체험객들은 잡은 은어를 내성교 아래 설치해 놓은 숯불 그릴구이장에서 가족과 오순도순 둘러앉아 구워 먹으며 여름 별미인 은어구이를 즐기기도 했다.

봉화은어축제가 중반에 접어든 가운데 지난 7월 31일 저녁에는 특설무대에서 워터캐논(물대포)을 이용해 관광객과 연예인이 함께 즐기는 레트로 워터쇼를 진행해 시원하고 색다른 경험을 안겨줬다.

축제기간 동안 매일 봉화군민 및 사회단체가 함께하는 안전축제 만들기, 바가지요금 근절 등 다양한 캠페인을 실시했으며, 폭염 대책으로 관광객 쉼터를 늘리고 쿨링포그를 설치해 무더위 속 쾌적하게 축제를 즐길 수 있도록 했다. 또한 쉼터 내 딜리버리 존을 조성해 더욱 편리한 축제장 만들기에 노력했다.

이제 막바지로 치닫는 봉화은어축제는 8월 2일 ‘전국 청소년 은어 맨손잡이 대회’를 펼치고 저녁에는 EDM과 함께하는 신나는 여름 클럽파티 ‘청춘 썸머나잇! 워터풀 원더풀’을 개최한다.

오는 3일 토요일에는 총상금 180만 원이 걸려있는 ‘전국어신선발대회’와 트로트계의 아이돌 진욱 김소연, 빈예서, 홍잠언이 출연하는 ‘HOT~! K-트로트 콘서트’로 축제 분위기를 고조시킬 예정이다.

축제 마지막날인 4일에는 폐막식과 함께 경서, 우디, 최우진, 미스김, 김희재가 꾸미는 폐막공연과 불꽃쇼로 축제의 마지막을 멋지게 장식할 예정이다.

박현국 봉화축제관광재단 이사장(봉화군수)는 “휴가철을 맞이해 많은 관광객이 다녀갔으며, 제26회 봉화은어축제 기간 동안 약 20만명 이상의 관광객이 다녀갈 것으로 전망된다.”며 “앞으로 남은 축제 기간 동안 알찬 프로그램들이 준비되어 있으니 많은 관심과 참여 부탁드린다.”라고 전했다.
