한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 김한성)는 지난 6월 7일 제8차 계획예방정비에 착수했던 신월성1호기(가압경수로형·100만㎾급)가 계획예방정비를 마치고 8월 16일 오후 14시 09분에 발전을 재개하여 8월 19일 오전 03시 50분 전출력에 도달했다고 밝혔다.

신월성1호기는 계획예방정비기간(71일) 동안 원자력안전법과 전기사업법에따른 법정검사와 원전연료교체, ESW 앵커 인장시험 및 보강 등 각종 기기정비 및 설비개선을 수행했으며, 이를 통해 원전안전성을 한층 강화했다.

월성원자력본부는 향후 원전 안전운영에 최선을 다할 것이며 발전소에 특이사항 발생 시 관련 내용을 즉시 투명하게 공개할 예정이다.

Shinwolseong Unit 1 (pressurized water reactor, 1 million kW) resumed power generation after completing planned preventive maintenance.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Kim Han-seong) announced that Shinwolseong Unit 1 (pressurized water reactor, 1 million kW), which had begun its 8th planned preventive maintenance on June 7, resumed power generation at 2:09 PM on August 16 after completing planned preventive maintenance and reached full power at 3:50 AM on August 19.

During the planned preventive maintenance period (71 days), Shinwolseong Unit 1 performed various equipment maintenance and facility improvements in accordance with the Atomic Energy Safety Act and the Electricity Business Act, nuclear fuel replacement, ESW anchor tensile testing, and reinforcement, thereby further enhancing nuclear power plant safety.

Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters will do its best to ensure safe operation of nuclear power plants in the future, and if any unusual events occur at the power plant, it will immediately and transparently disclose the relevant information.
