포스코노동조합(위원장 김성호)은 1월 7일 오후 4시 포항MBC를 방문해 ‘희망 2026 나눔캠페인’ 이웃돕기 성금 2,000만 원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다. 이날 전달식에는 김성호 위원장을 비롯한 노동조합 간부들이 참석해 이승용 포항MBC 사장에게 성금을 전달했다.

이번 성금은 철강산업 전반의 어려운 경영 여건 속에서도 지역과 함께 성장하는 노동조합의 가치를 실현하기 위해 마련됐다. 기탁된 성금은 경북사회복지공동모금회를 통해 포항 지역 내 기초생활수급자, 독거노인, 소년소녀가장 등 취약계층의 긴급 생계비와 의료비 지원에 사용될 예정이다.

김성호 위원장은 “현장에서 땀 흘리는 조합원 한 사람 한 사람의 마음이 모여 지역사회에 온기를 전할 수 있어 더욱 뜻깊다”며 “포스코노동조합은 단순한 기부를 넘어 노사 상생과 사회적 책임을 실천하는 K-노사문화의 주체로서 포항 시민의 든든한 이웃이 되겠다”고 말했다.

포스코노동조합은 2025년 한 해 동안 포항과 광양 지역경제 활성화를 위해 지역화폐 카드 80억 원, 상품권 80억 원 등 총 160억 원 규모의 지역화폐를 구매했으며, 포항시와 광양시에 총 2억 원의 기부금을 전달했다.

이와 함께 ▲전통시장 살리기 캠페인 ▲취약계층 지원 및 재난 피해 성금 기부 ▲지역 철강산업 인재 육성을 위한 장학사업 ‘철든장학금’ 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 추진하고 있다. 특히 지난해 12월에는 광양시에서 초록우산 산타원정대에 1천만 원, 마음나누리에 5백만 원을 기부하는 등 연말연시 나눔 활동을 꾸준히 이어가며 지역사회와 동행하는 노사문화 정착에 앞장서고 있다.

한편 포스코노동조합이 제시하는 ‘K-노사문화’는 투쟁과 상생의 조화를 바탕으로 조합원과 회사, 지역사회, 나아가 국가의 성장을 도모하고, 이를 통해 창출된 사회적 가치가 다시 조합원과 지역으로 환원되는 선순환 구조를 지향하는 철학이자 비전으로 평가받고 있다.

POSCO Labor Union Donates 20 Million KRW to the "Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign"

The POSCO Labor Union (Chairman Kim Seong-ho) visited Pohang MBC at 4:00 PM on January 7th and announced that it donated 20 million KRW to the "Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign" to help neighbors. Union officials, including Chairman Kim Seong-ho, attended the ceremony and presented the donation to Pohang MBC President Lee Seung-yong.

This donation was created to demonstrate the union's value of growing together with the local community despite the challenging business environment facing the steel industry. The donation will be used to provide emergency living expenses and medical care to vulnerable groups in the Pohang area, including recipients of basic livelihood security, senior citizens living alone, and child heads of households, through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.

Chairman Kim Seong-ho said, "It's even more meaningful that the hearts of each and every union member working hard on the ground can come together to spread warmth to the local community." He added, "The POSCO Labor Union will become a strong neighbor to Pohang citizens as a leader in the K-labor-management culture, practicing labor-management cooperation and social responsibility beyond simple donations."

During 2025, the POSCO Labor Union purchased a total of 16 billion won in local currency, including 8 billion won in local currency cards and 8 billion won in gift certificates, to revitalize the local economies of Pohang and Gwangyang. The union also donated a total of 200 million won to the cities of Pohang and Gwangyang.

Furthermore, the union continues to pursue various social contribution activities, including the traditional market revitalization campaign, support for vulnerable groups and disaster relief donations, and the "Cheoldun Scholarship," a scholarship program to foster talent in the local steel industry. In particular, in December of last year, the union donated 10 million won to the Green Umbrella Santa Expedition in Gwangyang City and 5 million won to the Sharing Hearts program.
