대학 측에 따르면 올해 입학정원 673명 기준 신입생 충원율 100%를 달성했다.

이날 입학식에는 정은재 총장을 비롯한 교내외 인사들이 참석했으며, 사회복지계열 허숙민 교수, 안경광학과 박경주 교수, 조리사관과 유형욱 교수, 간호학과 하정혜 교수에게 신임교원 임용장이 수여됐다.

정은재 총장은 축사를 통해 “경북과학대는 실용학문을 기반으로 글로벌 시대가 요구하는 실천적 역량을 함양하는 대학”이라며 “AI 시대를 선도할 창의적 인재로 성장하길 바란다”고 당부했다.

이어 “대학의 창학정신인 ‘우리는 창조한다(We Create)’처럼 끊임없는 자기 성장과 창조적 역량 개발을 통해 새로운 가치를 만들어가야 한다”고 강조했다.
