【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=주호영 국회부의장(국민의힘·대구 수성갑)이 대구 경제 위기 해법으로 법인세·상속세의 지역 차등 적용 등 제도 개편이 필요하다고 강조했다.

주 부의장은 9일 대구CBS 라디오 인터뷰에서 “대구의 위기는 결국 정치가 해결해야 할 문제”라며 “대기업 유치 공약만으로는 근본적인 해결이 어렵다”고 말했다.

이어 “지난 30년 동안 역대 시장들이 예산을 확보하고 기업 유치에 힘썼지만, 대구의 경제 구조는 크게 바뀌지 않았다”며 “토지와 인력 등 여건에서 경쟁력이 떨어지는 상황에서, 세제 개편이 현실적인 대안이 될 수 있다”고 설명했다.

주 부의장은 수도권과 지방 간 법인세 격차를 확대하는 방안을 제시했다. 

그는 “수도권 법인세를 다소 올리고 지방 기업에는 감면을 적용해 약 5%포인트 차이가 나도록 하면, 기업들의 지방 이전을 유도할 수 있다”고 제안했다. 

아울러 지방에서 장기간 투자한 기업에는 상속세를 면제하는 등 인센티브를 마련하면 기업 이전 결정에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있을 것이라고 덧붙였다.

이날 인터뷰에서는 당내 정치 상황에 대한 언급도 이어졌다. 

주 부의장은 오세훈 서울시장의 공천 관련 결정과 당내 논쟁을 거론하며 “지금의 당 행태로는 선거를 치르기 어렵다는 판단이 있었던 것 같다”고 밝혔다. 

또, 윤석열 전 대통령과의 관계 정리를 둘러싼 이른바 ‘절윤’ 논쟁에 대해서는 “말보다는 실천이 더 중요하다”고 강조하기도 했다.

대구·경북 행정통합 문제와 관련해서는 국회 본회의 일정에 맞춰 논의가 계속될 가능성을 시사하며 통합 필요성도 언급했다. 그는 “통합을 통해 재정 효율성과 사업 집행력이 높아질 수 있다”고 말했다.

National Assembly Vice Speaker Joo Ho-young (People Power Party, Daegu Suseong A) emphasized the need for institutional reforms, including regional differentials in corporate and inheritance taxes, as a solution to Daegu's economic crisis.

He added that providing incentives, such as exempting inheritance taxes for companies that have invested long-term in local areas, could positively influence corporate relocation decisions.

The interview also included comments on the party's internal political situation.

Vice Chairman Joo cited the decision to nominate Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and the internal debate, stating, "It seems there was a judgment that it would be difficult to run an election under the party's current behavior."

He also emphasized the so-called "Jeol-yun" controversy surrounding the severance of ties with former President Yoon Seok-yeol, emphasizing that "actions speak louder than words."

Regarding the administrative integration of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, he hinted at the possibility of continuing discussions in line with the National Assembly plenary session schedule and emphasized the necessity of integration. He stated, "Integration can enhance fiscal efficiency and business execution."
