안동과학대학교 대학혁신지원사업 주관으로 실시된 봉사활동은 호텔조리과 교수 및 학생 14명이 참여하였으며, 학생들의 봉사정신 함양과 함께하는 지역사회 공동체 실현을 목표로 운영했다.

봉사활동에 참여한 호텔조리과 학생들은 “준비하는 동안 비록 몸은 힘들었지만 시설 어르신들께서 학생들 애썼고, 고맙고, 잘 먹겠다는 응원과 격려의 말씀에 힘이 나는 하루였다.”고 소감을 전했다.

안동과학대학교 호텔조리과 허성미 교수는 “학생들이 그동안 배운 것을 발휘하여 정성껏 음식을 조리하여 전공에 대한 자부심과 보람을 느낄 수 있는 경험이 되었으며, 현재 코로나 19로 인해 우리 일상이 많이 힘든 가운데 기꺼이 청춘의 힘을 거침없이 쏟아내는 학생들을 보며 지금 이 힘든 상황도 잘 극복해 나갈 것이라고 믿는다.”고 소감을 전했다.

안동과학대학교는 전공기반 지역사회 봉사단을 운영하여 지역사회 협력을 위한 다양한 봉사 프로그램에 참여하고 있으며, 앞으로도 지역민을 위한 다양한 봉사 프로그램을 지원할 예정이다.
