수성구청에 따르면 보도블록 정비공사 후 발생되는 폐보도블록은 건설폐기물로 취급돼 폐기물관리법에 따라 폐기물로 처리되고 있으나, 폐보도블록 무료나눔을 통해 재활용으로 자원생산성을 향상시키고, 폐기물처리 시 발생되는 별도의 비용을 절감할 수 있다.
오는 15일부터 폐보도블록 무료나눔 신청을 받아, 인도정비공사 현장에서 발생되는 폐보도블록 중 상태가 양호한 블록을 선별해 수성구민에게 무상으로 배부할 계획이다.
단, 수령과 운반은 신청자 부담이다. 신청서는 수성구 홈페이지, 방문, 우편을 통해 접수하며, 폐보도블록은 신청순으로 현장에서 배부 받을 수 있다.
김대권 수성구청장은 “폐보도블록의 재활용을 통해 환경보호와 예산절감 효과를 동시에 기대할 수 있다”고 말했다.
한편, 수성구는 버스승강장 주변 및 보행자 통행이 많은 곳을 중심으로 보도블록이 훼손된 구간 및 노후맨홀, 측구 등 평평하지 않은 구간을 조기 발견해 선(先)보수·정비함으로써 안전하고 걷기 편한 보행환경을 조성하고 있다.
