이날 장 시장은 특히, 구미시민의 최대 관심사인 상생형 구미일자리의 성공을 위하여 LG화학 구미공장의 연내 착공에 대한 지원을 강력히 건의하고 통합신공항 이전과 연계한 광역 교통망 구축에도 각별한 관심을 당부했다.

이에 대해 비서실장과 정무수석은 구미 경제의 어려움에 통감하고 위기 극복방안을 적극 고민해 보겠다고 했다.
